Hoof problems can seriously affect a horse’s comfort and performance. Thank you to Benjamin Reed for sharing how he helped Jack, through a tough challenge of sheared heels and a spontaneous quarter crack. See more of their work keep up to date with how this horse is doing by following Benjamin Reed Farrier Services on Facebook.

From Benjamin Reed

“ This is my client Jack, a sweet old gelding who presented with sheared heels and a spontaneous quarter crack.

An assessment revealed that previous improper farriery may have been a contributing factor; however, his limb conformation and landing pattern were determined to be the dominant factors causing this type of hoof deformation.

We addressed this complex issue by implementing strategic shoeing adjustments using GluShu.

Jack was immediately more comfortable after the Glushu were fitted and he is making fantastic progress.

Since the Glushu fitting, Jack has made fantastic progress. His sheared heels are becoming more balanced, and the quarter crack is healing. Jack’s comfort level has increased, allowing him to move more freely and with less pain.

This case highlights how targeted farriery using the right tools can transform a horse’s hoof health. It also shows the importance of expert assessment to identify the root causes of hoof problems rather than just treating symptoms.

If you want to try Glushu for your horse, you can order it from our online store or find it at your local farrier supply. For any questions about Glushu, contact the team at sue@glushu.com.
