Coffin bone rotation is a challenging condition that affects a horse's hoof health and overall mobility. Finding effective treatment methods is crucial for farriers and horse owners aiming to improve their horse’s comfort and soundness. Recently, expert farrier Bart Lambert shared his experience using Glushu to address coffin bone rotation. Be sure to follow Bart Lambert on Facebook to see more of his work.
From Bart Lambert:
“This is a recent client who was my first case in years with single coffin bone rotation on the hindquarters.
The horse had limited sole, so we are working with raising the coffin bone using an acrylate adhesive from Glue-u Adhesives, followed by a Sapas application on a GluShu for de-rotation
We are confident that this horse will make a great recovery. Follow my Facebook page for updates.”
Why Glushu Works Well for Coffin Bone Rotation
Glushu is designed to bond securely to the hoof wall and sole, creating a stable platform for therapeutic pads and shoes. Its properties make it especially useful in cases where the sole is thin or fragile, as it can support corrective devices without causing additional damage.
Key benefits of Glushu in this context include:
Strong adhesion that lasts through movement and moisture
Flexibility to accommodate hoof expansion and contraction
Compatibility with various therapeutic pads like Sapas
Ease of application for farriers in the field
These features help farriers build customized solutions that address the unique needs of horses with coffin bone rotation.
